While our April 19 in-person event was unfortunately canceled, we moved forward with our first 2020 collective contribution to a local nonprofit by selecting the Ely Area Food Shelf as our recipient. As expected, Ely women came through and we are proud to announce that we collected $7765 in donations. We know the food shelf will make good use of our donations. Please thank them for the important work they do in our community.
One of the highlights of our meetings is hearing how previous recipient charities have put our donations to good use. Since we weren’t able to participate in an in-person event this spring, and therefore didn’t have a chance to hear from our previous recipient, we asked the Ely Folk School to provide a video presentation on how they have used the funds we donated.
